5. First Edition Books
If you were a reader from the start, I cannot applaud you more. We post-2011 bandwagoners are not worthy. If you first read about Bran Stark being pushed out of a window back in 1996 (when I was just a sweet 3-year-old still baffled by the complexities of The Very Hungry Caterpillar) then you deserve our gratitude for making the series so popular it hit our TV screens. And if you were one of the ultra-hardcore fans with a 1st Edition 1st Print book, you're sitting on a mini goldmine. The prices wildly differ, with the entire series of first edition books ranging from $1,000 to a brain-melting $3,000. You can pick up individual copies for cheaper, of course, but if you're after the set, prepare to fork out huge sums of cash. And if you managed to get your first ed. books signed by George R.R. Martin himself, drinks are on you. Forever.
