It's finally happened. Seventeen years on from the series finale, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Anniston, Courteney Cox, and Lisa Kudrow were back together to discuss all things Friends.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on the special, but as far as your writer is concerned, it was a masterpiece.

The gang were evidently delighted to be back together again - this was only the second time they had all been together for this sort of thing since the finale - and the reunion was backed up gorgeously by guest stars, scene recreations, table reads, and the general ambience of hearing those six exemplary voices together once more.

Yes, there were a few - sometimes major - inconveniences that meant the special wasn't quite as great as we've always wanted it to be, but it's happened. The Friends reunion has happened. This is something that fans of the sitcom have clamoured for since it ended. As the real world edges ever closer to some sort of normality again, this is the sort of thing we needed to top it off.

The near two hours of content released by HBO Max was mesmerising. Let's break it down...
