If the show was feeling particularly ambitious, and desperate to make a lasting impact, they could opt for a completely ludicrous, off-the-wall, but strangely reasonable scenario which could genuinely see a threat to Earth being tackled by Sheldon and/or some of the other guys from the group. Yes, I know it sounds ridiculous, but Sheldon is clearly one of the brightest brains in the country and he could be called upon in the event of a catastrophe, for example, a meteor heading for Earth. He could be the man tasked to help prevent it, and with the help of Leonard, Howard, and Raj, it would be the defining moment of their careers. I'm certainly not expecting any of this to happen, but The Big Bang Theory has the power to bring in such a mammoth-scale storyline to conclude the show, but would it dare?
