A New Series of BLOCKBUSTERS Announced

Talkback Thames have announced that a new series of BLOCKBUSTERS will be hitting our TV screens soon. Great idea or outdated quiz show?

In what seems to be an age where quiz shows are now dominating daytime TV, another is about to be added. A new series of Blockbusters is expected to hit our screens next year. Talkback Thames were seen earlier this month scouting out new contestants for the show, which is to be aired on digital channel, Challenge. The popular quiz show from the 80's, involving two contestants against one, battling it out on the 20 piece hexagonal board. The show was aired weekly, proving whether or not two heads are better than one. The new series may seem like a risk to some, given that Sky One's attempts back in 2000 failed to obtain the same amount of popularity that the show originally had. To date, Challenge have only shown reruns of the show and even then, it was dropped due to low ratings. It's difficult to say whether or not Talkback Thames can bring about that spark to get the public interested again, as there are very little details about the show at the moment. Still no news on a host or possible air date. We look forward to seeing if Challenge can give the game show a new lease of life or whether it will end up returning to the odd rerun. What's your thoughts?
