9. The Howling Commandos
Nick Fury's Howling Commandos was the name of a short-lived 2006 series that featured Nick Fury assembling a group of supernatural monsters to stop a magician (claiming to be Merlin) who escaped from a S.H.I.E.L.D. detention facility. The group was officially known as the S.H.I.E.L.D. Paranormal Containment Unit and was made up of a mummy, a zombie, a werewolf/vampire hybrid, a full werewolf and a Frankenstein's monster. It would be a breeze to introduce the concept of the S.H.I.E.L.D. Paranormal Containment Unit into the world of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and having supernatural members of the team would be a no-brainer. The show could even forgo the more confusing comic book members and just use Marvel characters that fit the more archetypal movie monster genre like Werewolf by Night, The Living Mummy, Frankenstein's Monster and Blade. Also this would also give Joss Whedon a chance to go back to his Buffy roots and do an entire episode with a supernatural theme to it, and that's no bad thing.
