Agents Of SHIELD: 10 Questions For Season 3

8. How Will It Tie Into The MCU?

There€™s been a moment in both seasons of the show so far where it has quite clearly tied into whatever the big Marvel movie is at the time.

In the first season, this was Captain America: The Winter Soldier. This was quite an obvious one to make once you see the film, and it all fit together brilliantly to bring Hydra into the TV show and was really the catalyst for the upturn in quality it had.

Last year it tied into Avengers: Age of Ultron, and it didn€™t exactly have the same impact. There was a mention of how it was Coulson who was ultimately responsible for the Helicarrier that saves them towards the end of the film, but nothing more than that. It was a nice little reference for keen-eyed (and eared) fans, but didn€™t lend much purpose to the show€™s narrative in the way it did last year.

Season 3 is almost certainly going to find a way of tying into Captain America: Civil War, and that seems like a much better fit. The debate of superheroes' place in society is one that would seemingly work within the series, and the Coulson€™s S.H.I.E.L.D vs €˜real€™ S.H.I.E.L.D arc this year points to how it could all come together.
