Agents Of Shield: 5 Things We Already Know

1. Coulson Is Dead

Coulson I think it's fair to say that our friend Coulson died in The Avengers, and after last week's episode it's quite evident that he is dead and buried. One particular line caught my attention; earlier on we saw Ward training Skye and talking about "Muscle Memory," sure enough a couple of scenes later we see Coulson complaining that even after he was out of the field for a while he should have some of his old skills because of it. I don't need to put a lot of thinking to know that this Coulson isn't the real one we knew during Phase One, but that doesn't extends to Coulson's consciousness. Perhaps they put his mind in some sort of clone or a Life Model Decoy (like The Bene Tleilax do in the Dune novels) or, considering how much emphasis he makes on the "Magical" aspect of Tahiti, maybe Shield has some Asgardian technology on their hands. At this point nothing would surprise me, however I'm pretty sure Whedon has one or two things under his sleeve to make his return something important and not just a cheap way to please the fanboys. As for what the series has in store for us, we'll just have to wait and see.
