The only mention on this list from the ongoing fourth season of the anthology series, Freak Show, Twisty the Clown more than earned his spot on this list of haunting terrors for being one of the frightening presences to ever grace televisual screens, thanks in no small part to John Carroll Lewis' career-making turn. In his first full appearance, Twisty surprises a canoodling young couple and soon knocks them out with his juggling clubs. The girl, Bonnie Lipton (Skyler Samuels) awakens to find Twisty stabbing her beau violently to death. Screaming, she manages to get up and run, only to soon find herself captured by the macabre clown in a frightening and frenetic moment that establishes Twisty as an American Horror Story fan favourite, of sorts. His current status as the most twisted individual on Freak Show remains to be challenged - Twisty and Carroll Lynch have more than earned their spots in the great hall of American Horror Story alumn. Twisty is psychotic, twisted, and is soon discover, more than he seems, making him truly terrifying, and his attacks on the town even darker than anyone could ever have imagined...
