Season: Murder House It's clear to see that Tate had some issues, but to kill his step father and then a whole load of fellow students was scary to watch simply because of how calm he remained during the whole execution process. He was focused and completely void of any emotion; even when the police raided his house and he was stood at gunpoint, nothing seemed to faze him. However, what made Tate's death so dramatic is the revelation that he is actually dead, and he caused so much devastation during his final hours that it seems impossible for Violet to remain in love with him knowing these things.
