American Horror Story: Apocalypse - 5 Ups & 1 Down From 'The Morning After'

Downs...

1. The Lack Of Overall Narrative Progression

Perhaps its a tad too early to make such a bold statement, but the narrative of Apocalypse hasn't progressed very far yet, despite the fact that we're already two episodes in. In previous seasons, the story had been well fleshed out by this stage, and the protagonists would've already settled on their goals for the season-long arc.

Other than Michael's little game with the survivors, and a few AHS-themed throwbacks, very little happened in The Morning After. The status quo hasn't been altered much since last week's instalment of the show.

It's also not helping that due to the end of the world narrative, every scene takes place in the dimly lit outpost shelter. As the Murder House and Coven characters are set to appear at some point, there's plenty to keep us watching, but considering Apocalypse is only a mere ten episodes long, it's only fair that the narrative starts picking up a bit quicker now in future episodes..
