American Horror Story: Apocalypse - 6 Major Questions Raised By The Finale

3. How Do Timothy And Emily Conceive The Antichrist?

American Horror Story Apocalypse Michael
FX

Hey, remember Timothy and Emily? Neither did I, but I’ll do my best to recap their story in this season. When the bombs were launched, they were taken away from their families because of their DNA, or something, and they fall in love (maybe) and they’re sent to Outpost 3 to be controlled by Wilhemina Venable, who forbids them from loving each other for some reason… then at the end of the third episode they eat apples injected with venom and die. Okay. Bye Timothy and Emily. You won’t really be missed.

But, in its closing moments, Apocalypse Then decides to reintroduce us to the star-crossed lovers in the alternate timeline where no apocalypse has occurred, and where they meet by chance at a rally. It abruptly cuts to one year later when they’re having a baby, and abruptly cuts again to three years later where they’re coming home after a long day’s work to see their child.

But what’s this? The sky is red and crows are swarming? Why does that imagery look familiar? And what's this? Blood is smeared on the wall? No. Don’t tell me. Yep, their child murdered the babysitter, just like Michael. Dammit guys, you gave birth to another Antichrist!

Except, this doesn’t make any sense.

Michael made sense because he was the offspring of a living human being and a dead one, and was conceived in a house that’s directly over a portal to hell. It's no mystery he was chosen as the spawn of Satan. But Timothy and Emily’s child? What’s his connection? His parents are both alive and (presumably) didn’t conceive him in a murder house (at least they better not have, they aren't that stupid, are they?).

Did Satan decide to just make this random child his offspring this time around? Was it something to do with the couple’s DNA that got them taken away? Do their DNA consists of genes that make Antichrist babies? Does anything in this show make sense?

Aaron Kirby hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
