2. The Characters

Characters are the most important part of any television series. If we don't connect with our protagonists then what's the point in watching? American Horror Story has given us some of televisions greatest characters over the years, and with many of these AHS fan-favourites returning for Apocalypse, all eyes were on the new characters to see if they were able to live up to returnees. Shockingly enough, they hold their own.

As The End spends a lot of time setting up the narrative for Apocalypse, we have plenty of opportunities to get acquainted with the new protagonists. Murphy and Falchuk have given us a vast array of colourful characters this year, from Evan Peters' highly strung Gallant, to Leslie Grossman's Coco. However, as noted earlier, it's Joan Collins' Evie Gallant that has the most potential.

Sarah Paulson has given us some of AHS' biggest and boldest characters (several of whom will be returning this season), and she's done it once again with the creepy Ms. Venable. You wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of her.
