3. The Frat House

Emma Roberts' character Madison is egotistical and self absorbed and she believes that her physical appearance and her intelligence makes her superior to everyone else but that doesn't mean that the brutal rape scene between her and a load of frat boys is a result of karmic justice. The scene is horrific to watch as the boys each take a turn at raping her whilst the others watch, cheer and even record it on their phones. They have drugged Madison but she is not unconscious, although she is unable to react or even defend herself. Viewers watch uncomfortably as she is violated, degraded and harmed until Kyle (Evans) comes to her rescue. There is never any excuse for this type of behaviour and the true horror of this scene is the fact that this happens on a daily basis to men and women across the world. People are attacked, violated and left scarred for life by the actions of another who want a sense of power or entitlement to something that is not theirs. But the actions of these vile and despicable frat boys do not change Madison's character which is a win in itself. She does not become shut off from the world or hides away; she seeks justice and maintains her strong and stubborn personality.
