American Horror Story: Every Villain Ranked Worst To Best

American Horror Story loves a good serial killer, all of whom have been included on this list. But even though Twisty was the most iconic murderer on the show, and Bloody Face was the most two-faced and shocking, none were as sinister, terrifying or gleefully aware of their own evil than James Patrick March.

Based on the infamous H. H. Holmes, March was the architect of the Hotel Cortez, which he designed with the purpose of hiding his many crimes and increasingly macabre murder sprees. He built secret rooms and holes in the walls to dispose of the bodies left in his wake, and despite being such a rich and well respected businessman, loved committing unsuspecting murders more than anything else in his life.

Even in death, after which his ghost roamed the halls of the hotel, he was regarded as the greatest serial killer of them all, and though there have been plenty of villains before and since Hotel, none have ever been able to match the brilliance of James Patrick March.
