3. Actual Horror

Horror is a subjective term because people find different things scary. So far we've witnessed ghosts, immoral treatment and experimentation on fellow humans, witchcraft with people being burned at the stake and finally and a killer clown who made you develop coulrophobia. However, whilst many of you may have only been able to sleep with the light on, the majority of the deaths and behaviour shown in AHS have just been gruesome. Perhaps what makes this so horrifying is these characters feel comfortable and can validate this inhumane treatment and cruelty on others without seeing anything wrong with it. You see this behaviour every day on the news. After all, the scene in which Shelley is mutilated and has her legs amputated by Dr Arden was horrific enough. So what type of 'horror' will Hotel portray? If you've watched the trailer you'll notice the children jumping up and down whilst looking creepy as hell and maybe that's all you'll need to get your spook on.
