American Horror Story: Murder House - 12 Most Shocking Moments

1. The Shootings

What made this scene so scary is the fact that this is evidence of real life horror. There have been far too many shootings of schools in America where innocent teachers and students have been murdered by someone who 'just felt like killing.' Ever since Columbine, metal detectors have been placed in schools to prevent such attacks from happening but sadly, there have been far too many shootings already and there will be more. Tate dresses up as a skeleton and walks around the school physically symbolising death. His skeleton form represents the fact that he is death in the sense that he is going to dictate who lives and who dies. He shows no mercy to any of his classmates and in the end, he willingly surrenders to the police because he recognises that his actions will lead to his demise. But again, with the skeleton makeup, he knew this already; he had already determined his fate. Throughout the shootings he becomes a monster as he is completely desensitised to what he is doing. His fellow students are crying and begging for their lives yet he remains calm and confident in his actions by pulling the trigger and moving on to the next victim.
