Archer Vice was a heck of a lot of fun. For a show that was already pretty fast and loose and ready to speed off in any direction the writers fancied, the change of set up in the fifth season let them do even more craziness. The first four seasons focussed on the main group as part of the freelance spy agency ISIS, which wound up being disbanded by the US government for reasons that are obvious to anyone who's seen a single episode of Archer. After losing out on the whole espionage game the former ISIS employees struck out on their own with a hidden stockpile of cocaine that the agency accumulated from previous operations, establishing a headquarters in Cheryl's mansion and forming a drug cartel, before heading south to sell the cocaine to fund their retirements. Oh and Cheryl began a career as a country singer, because it's Archer. That was a fun break from reality, but season six of Archer will get back down to brass tacks. We're getting back to making sure that Archer and spying is kind of at the heart of everything, promises co-creator Matt Thompson, It's a lot more going on missions and fighting and action and people getting shot and stuff. The Archer we know and love!
