Soon after the audience is introduced to George Bluth, his brother Oscar is brought into the mix. Oscar is everything George isn't — he has a glorious head of long hair, he's a hippie/anti-capitalist, and he's infatuated with Lucille. Despite their differences, the two are identical twins, and this is a problem for Oscar.

George manages to escape from his confinement by throwing Oscar in his place. He shaved his head, and nobody believed the old excuse of, "It's not me! My twin is the one you want!" As a result, Oscar languished in prison, paying for his brother's crimes.

While inside, he put up a website called IMOSCAR.com ("I'm Oscar..... Dot com"), which effectively argued that he wasn't George Bluth. When the episodes aired, Fox put together a real website mirroring the one from the show but has since taken it down. While it was up, screenshots were taken that reveal something interesting.

Oscar's prisoner number is #24601, which should be familiar to anyone who has read the works of Victor Hugo. In Les Misérables, Jean Valjean's prisoner number was #24601. He was a long pursued and convicted criminal who went to jail for stealing a loaf of bread.
