Arrow: 10 Best Episodes So Far
6. The Brave And The Bold (Season 3, Episode 8)

A lot of the best episodes of Arrow often succeed because they further the larger plot of the season. That said, there’s still room for Oliver and company to have enjoyable filler episodes that don’t carry any long-term significance. The Brave And The Bold is perhaps the show’s finest one-off outing.
Acting as the second part of a crossover with The Flash, this was a much more fun and lighter hour for the show. Thanks in large part to the visiting cast members, we got to see the Arrow operate in a welcome new light, if only for an hour. The show's typical darkness still found a way to creep in, however, with all of Oliver’s sidekicks becoming keenly aware of what they’re risking by working with him.
At the core of the episode was Captain Boomerang, a ridiculous villain, even for the comics, but somehow the show made him awesome and threatening, all the while clinging to his theme of boomerangs. That fight scene alone inside of ARGUS is one of the series’ best.
With the crossover episodes looking to become a regular feature for the show, this bodes well for the series future since it offered a new take on the traditionally darker show and gave us an amazing one-time villain.
