Arrow: 10 Major Predictions For Season 5
2. The Show's Problems Won't Be Completely Fixed
Arrow is making all of the right noises going into this new season. The producers and stars have all held their hands up and admitted that certain things haven't worked out or been received as well as they'd hoped, and they know they've moved too far away from the core of the show.
While that is promising, it's probably unrealistic to expect all of the show's problems to be miraculously fixed. A big issue that the show has is the amount of episodes it needs to fill, and with another 23-episode run on the way, we're still going to be sitting through a lot of filler - and with that, some lacklustre episodes and unmemorable villains-of-the-week.
Likewise, it's still going to have those more melodramatic, soap-y elements to it. They're a part of the show, and they can be a necessary one in terms of developing characters and relationships and filling in story between the main plot. For people fed up of it, it won't be going away - but hopefully it will be used more sparingly and appropriately.
I can't see the show ever reaching those dizzying heights of Season 2 again, but nor is it a write-off and set for cancellation just yet.
