Arrow: 10 Major Predictions For Season 5

1. The Show Gets Back To Basics - And It Works

Arrow Predictions 1

Throughout the off-season, pretty much everyone in the show has been toeing the party line about what they want to do with Season 5: Get back to basics.

It's a move that should please fans, if they can pull it off without simply retreading old ground, and hopefully get the show back towards the level of quality it was operating at around the second half of Season 1 and all of Season 2 (maybe not quite that high, but that's the lines it needs to be on).

So we can expect more action, with better fights scenes, and a renewed focus on this dark hero's attempts to clean up Star City and the inner-conflict and past deeds he has to deal with.

While the show probably (as in, almost certainly) won't top Season 2, those invovled with it are making all the right noises. Stephen Amell, whose performances have improved even as the show's declined, has been particularly vocal about getting the show back to where it once was, and it's a good start. Talk of the "most vicious, violent" one-shot fight scene in network TV history may be hyperbole, but it's also damn exciting.

Maybe it's a bit foolish now to be optimistic, but I do think the show can get back to its roots, and while not recapturing its glory days in full, start being a thoroughly engrossing, ass-kicking superhero drama once more.
