Arrow: 10 Things You Didn't Know About Katie Cassidy

1. She Could've Been In 50 Shades

Rumours began circulating early last year that the actress was set to appear in the film adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey, after a picture posted to Instagram by author E.L. James featured Cassidy with the caption €œKatie Cassidy€Isn€™t she flexible?€ Many assumed this meant that she€™d be in the movie, albeit not as the lead as that had already gone to Dakota Johnson, however the rumours either ultimately didn€™t come to pass, or she didn€™t get the part. However, long before that even there was talk of her appearing in the film, which Cassidy herself commented on:
€œI€™m flattered that people have been talking about me for the role of Ana in Fifty Shades Of Grey. I€™ve read the book, it€™s great and it would be unbelievable to play her€ even if it is a little risqué. I believe they€™re in the process of writing a script for it and I€™d love to be given the opportunity to take on a character like that. I don€™t think the film would offend as many people as maybe the book has.€
While it would€™ve been a pretty big role for her, it€™s probably safe to say it was something of a lucky escape that she didn€™t end up in the movie, and she€™s much better kicking-ass as Black Canary in Arrow than being submissive to Christian Grey in 50 Shades.
