Arrow: 8 Best Villains

4. Deadshot

Deathstroke The CW
The CW

Few, if any, of Arrow's roster of supporting villains have come close to having the type of impactful arc that Floyd "Deadshot" Lawton had over the show's first three seasons. After starting off as a cold gun-for-hire, Deadshot's continued appearances revealed more and more about him, exposing his bravery, his love for his daughter, and a sense of honor.

His assassination of John Diggle's brother Andy also served as a solid foundation for the dynamic between the two men, with Deadshot willing to occasionally taunt Diggle and Diggle desiring nothing more than revenge against him. Once Deadshot was pulled into the Suicide Squad, though, the two came to respect one another, as Lawton demonstrated that he was willing to take a bullet for his partners, like Cupid, and even sacrificed his own life so that Diggle and Lyla's child wouldn't have to grow up an orphan.

It's hard to deny the show lost something good when Deadshot died. Despite only appearing in a handful of episodes, his journey through the grey area between good and evil and genuine depth and evolution put him above many of his contemporaries, and though some still hold hope that - somehow, someway - he could still be alive, the satisfying sense of closure to his role has ensured that he'll forever remain a bright spot in the series' history.
