The CWThis is the big one. The problem thats arguably holding the entire show back, and the one that, if rectified, could really help Arrow find its footing again. Back in Seasons 1 and 2, Felicity was a great character, she was the quirky sidekick and a nice counterbalance to Oliver and Diggles seriousness. But since then, shes been thrust into one of the most prominent roles in the show and it hasnt gone well. Her consistently irrational behaviour and lack of character development has gone too far and her petty relationship drama with Oliver is dragging everything down. Take the last two episodes for example. She consoles her mother than Lance was only lying to her to protect her and that was OK. Then the next episode rolls around and Oliver does the exact same thing to her in order to protect his son, but rather than understand, she freaks out and blames him for not trusting her. What?! The show has simply placed too much focus on their relationship and while that may please some viewers, it has resulted in less time for characters like Diggle and Laurel, and has caused the plot to revolve around Olivers ability to keep his relationship afloat as opposed to him saving his city. By freeing Oliver from such a distraction, it could liberate both him and the show to proceed in a strong new direction. How do you think Arrow can redeem itself? Or does the show not need saving?
