Arrow Season 3: 10 Comic Book Stories To Adapt

2. Batman - 'Contagion' And 'Legacy'

When 'Riddick' star Matt Nable officially signed on to play The Demon's Head himself, Ra's al Ghul, DC fans could giddily begin anticipating the depiction of the character that the show would present us with. We've already seen a number of members of his League Of Assassins in season two, including Black Canary and his daughter Nyssa, and it was revealed that Malcolm Merlyn, the main villain of season one, was also trained by the League. One thing that Arrow has proven over it's lifetime is that they do extremely good finales. The first season ramped up brilliantly and 'The Undertaking' didn't disappoint. Merlyn's plan to use an earthquake machine to destroy the Glades, a deprived area of Starling City, made for a grand canvas, full of action and drama. The second season finale then arguably improved on this, with Slade Wilson's army of mirakuru serum enhanced mercenaries unleashed upon the city. Now, an epic finale involving a Ra's al Ghul masterplan? That has to be something extra-special, and we think we know just what it should entail. Contagion and Legacy were Batman crossovers that dealt with Ra's facilitating the outbreak of the deadly Clench virus, or Ebola Gulf-A, on Gotham City. We think this would make for a superb and suitably horrific scheme for Ra's to inflict on Starling in his bid to destroy the city and start again from the ashes. Poisoning the citizens of Starling would see the villain's endgame take on a slightly different form than the previous finale's, where the heroes and their loved ones were in physical danger from earthquake's and unstoppable superpowered killing machines. The idea of a debilitating virus infecting their bodies could make for a more cerebral story, where Ollie and company would have to use all their wits and cunning to find a cure and save the city.
