Arrow Season 4: 11 Questions We're Asking After The Mid-Season Premiere

3. Is Felicity Permanently Paralysed?

Felicity is still alive (thankfully), but the doctors have told her that the spinal damage is irreparable, and that she's not going to walk again. That's a pretty major change for a main character to undergo. If it is the case, then it brings Felicity even further in line with being the show's version of Oracle/Barbara Gordon, confined to a wheelchair but being the tech genius for Green Arrow when he's out on the street. It's something that has been rumoured and theorised about for a while, and even if the series can't use the Oracle name, they seem to be going at least partially down that road. That is, unless they have another rug-pull, and she does eventually end up being able to walk again. There are ways they could find of managing that, probably involving the STAR Labs team or something like that. Certainly for the rest of Season 4, at least, it would seem she's going to be paralysed though.
