Arrow Season 4: 6 Villains You Need To Know About

6. Double Down

J.R. Bourne has been cast to play Jeremy Tell, traditionally a Flash villain better known as Double Down. He€™ll be a metahuman that can €œturn his playing card tattoos into deadly weapons.€ Yes, really.

In the comics he€™s a con-artist who loses all his money in a poker game. He killed the winner, but the deck of cards melded with his flesh, leaving his body disfigured but with the ability to detach them and use them as weapons (if he can detach them, why can€™t he take them off permanently?). He also isn€™t allowed into casinos (probably).

Although Arrow has kept things grounded in reality more than The Flash (at least as grounded as a show about a crime-fighting bow-and-arrow-wielding hero can be), this is the second metahuman they€™ve introduced (after Captain Boomerang last year) and a sign that they are continuing to expand the show€™s universe. Magic and mysticism are to be introduced more this year, and Double Down fits in with that thinking, and may well be popping over to Central City if he makes an escape from Starling.
