Arrow Season 4: 7 Ups And 4 Downs Of 'Monument Point'

Why blowing up thousands of people is great, but the flashbacks not so much so.

As Arrow's fourth season gets even closer to concluding, this week's outing for the Emerald Archer and Co. saw the threat of nuclear devastation on the horizon.

With Damien Darhk now in complete control of basically all the planet's nuclear weapons, the order of the day is carnage! With millions of lives on the line, it falls to Felicity and her nefarious old man, The Calculator, to try and put a stop to Darhk's plans.

Elsewhere, Thea is trapped in her very own Truman Show and has to do battle with the ever-fun Anarky. But whilst Thea gets to catch up with one of the show's more enjoyable rogues, poor Oliver has to tackle the always-horrible Vinnie Jones as the returning Brick.

Of course, hanging over all of this is the concept of magic, with the island flashbacks on Lian Yu showing Baron Reiter to be growing even more powerful, whilst the present-day Damien Darhk gets a shot in the arm where his own powers are concerned.

With only two episodes of the season left following this, Monument Point was certainly a mixed bag for the most part, and here's what it did well and what it maybe didn't get quite right.

Felicity Ousted From Palmer Technologies

It’s about time!

Now to Team Arrow it may not have been an “up” necessarily, but in terms of making a logical move for the show it was the right move to make to have Felicity ousted from Palmer Tech.

After all, Felicity is barely at the company that she is supposedly running, instead either residing in the Arrowcave or, more recently, moping around and being a bit of a general !*$% to Oliver. It kind of beggared belief to see her just stroll into Palmer Tech sporadically and be able to make all right and well by simply smiling and cracking wise.

Seeing Felicity booted out of her own firm was a long time coming for young Miss Smoak.
