The new Big Bad of present day Arrow, Prometheus is going to be a villainous archer who has a connection to Oliver's past, specifically his time as the Hood, tying into this season's theme of legacy.

Although a new character (and not linked to the comics character of the same name), it's been said that he'll be a new character, but one who lost someone to the Hood, and has spent the past few years training and plotting to get his revenge.

Interestingly, the person playing the character hasn't been revealed, suggesting that there's a sense of mystery here, and that while being presented as someone new, it could end up being a recognisable face (no doubt the Tommy Merlyn theories are already doing the rounds), though hopefully handled better than Zoom was on The Flash.
