Some eagle-eyed viewers may have spotted that Oliver Queen kept a copy of The Count of Monte Cristo nearby in his cell and, if you're familiar with the novel, then you'll know that it has a surprising amount of relevance to the Green Arrow's current predicament.

Published in 1844 by French author Alexandre Dumas, the classic novel tells the tale of Edmond Dantès - a man that is wrongly accused of treason and, as a result, is arrested and imprisoned without trial in the real-life prison Château d'If, which was considered impenetrable because of its location.

However, despite those odds, the innocent Dantès eventually manages to escape from the fortress-like prison. Could this be a sign of things to come for Oliver at Slabside?
