Arrow Season 7: 5 Ups & 3 Downs From 'Star City Slayer'

1. A Predictable Twist

Ever since Katherine McNamara started kicking ass in Star City's bleak future as Blackstar, we knew there was a rich backstory that was just waiting to be explored. With her talent for cage fighting, her disdain for vigilantes and her desire to track down Felicity, she quickly became one of the show's most alluring new characters. Naturally, this led us to continually wonder just who she was.

Well, we finally got our answers this week.

In the flash-forwards, Blackstar revealed that she was William's sister, confirming that her full name was Mia Smoak. This coincided with present-day Felicity apparently discovering that she was pregnant. Thus, in case it wasn't obvious from all that, Blackstar is Oliver and Felicity's daughter.

Not only was this reveal quite disappointing, it was incredibly predictable. It's not exactly cutting edge to have a mysterious character turn up in the future, keep us guessing about her identity and then reveal that she's the daughter of the show's main couple. Moreover, ever since she debuted, fans have speculated on her true identity with the most recurring theory being that she was indeed an "Olicity baby".

Considering we had been waiting all season to discover her true identity, this was unfortunately nothing more than a major letdown for the show, and one that far too many people saw coming.
