Oliver Queen was a friend and a mentor to Barry Allen. The Emerald Archer taught the Scarlet Speedster on what it was like to be a superhero and how to use his powers to protect the people that he cared about. Barry even tells Oliver at the Vanishing Point that he trusts him ‘with every cell in his body’.

Now that Oliver is gone, it appears that Barry is taking up a leadership role moving forward into a post Crisis era. For instance, Barry was the one who took the initiative to form a version of the Justice League in the Arrowverse. Barry has also grown in similar ways like Oliver: he is now a competent leader of Team Flash and also had a daughter in an alternate future.
