Arrowverse Crossover: Everything You Need To Know About Elseworlds

2. Superman Will Return (With A New Suit)

It's hard to believe there was ever a time when Supergirl wasn't allowed to use Superman (other than the odd CGI-rendered appearance). However, by the time Season 2 rolled around, Tyler Hoechlin was cast as the Man of Steel and, in a somewhat surprising turn of events, his performance received acclaim.

After his four-episode run with the show came to an end, it seemed like that was the last we would see of Clark Kent, but that all changed when it was announced that Hoechlin would be reprising the role in the upcoming Elseworlds crossover.

We don't know yet what type of role Superman will play in the event, but given his closeness to the Bat-family, it wouldn't be that out there for us to assume that he is somehow responsible for the introduction of Batwoman. What's even more interesting is that Hoechlin has been spotted on set, sporting a black Superman suit.

As Henry Cavill's big screen iteration of the Man of Steel was rumoured to wear a black suit in one of Justice League's deleted scenes, it will be nice to finally see a live-action Superman don the iconic black variation in Elseworlds. But what does it actually mean for the crossover?
