Battlestar Galactica Cast: Where Are They Now?

Then: From First Lady to President, Mary McDonnell rose to fame starring in hit movies Dances With Wolves, Donnie Darko, and Independence Day. When we first met McDonnell's character, Laura Roslin, she is the Secretary of Education and 43rd in the line of Presidential Succession. After the Cylon attack she was sworn in as President, having to lead humanity while battling breast cancer.

Now: After Battlestar Galactica, McDonnell immediately went to work on a new show. Joining The Closer in season 5, she portrayed Sharon Raydor for 3 seasons. McDonnell then continued the character in her own spin-off show, Major Crimes, until 2018. Her latest movie role was in 2019's Mariette in Ecstasy.
