4. Alice Isn't Crazy Enough (Yet)

As The CW's promo trailers are renowned for just spoiling entire pilot episodes, it's no surprise that our first look at Batwoman also gave us a rather deep insight into the show's Big Bad - Alice.

Alice appears to be at the heart of Sophie's kidnapping and, as a result, is the first major villain that crosses paths with Batwoman. From the footage, actress Rachel Skarsten does a solid job of playing the villainous role, but something still felt off about this version of the character.

In the comics, Alice is incredibly eccentric, renowned for her obsession with quoting Alice In Wonderland and dressing up in a complete Victorian garb - oh yeah, and she whimsically derives pleasure from killing people. Her all-around terrifying approach made her Batwoman's archenemy - and that's before you factor in the fact that she's supposedly her dead twin sister.

Given that Alice is, in many ways, the female equivalent of The Joker, her live-action counterpart should have been a little more, for lack of a better term, unhinged. From what we've seen so far, there is definitely potential there but, in the trailer at least, she just feels a little too restrained.

Let's hope that the pilot itself will add a little more spice to the mix.
