BBC Drama "Good Cop" Back On Our Screens Tonight

BBC Drama "Good Cop" Back On Our Screens Tonight at 10.30pm

The finale of BBC Drama "Good Cop" will finally air on BBC1 tonight, three weeks after it was postponed in the wake of the murders of PC Fiona Bone and Nicola Hughes in a gun and grenade assault in Manchester. The police drama, which follows Warren Brown as Cop John-Paul Rocksavage, was due to air on September 20th. However, the corporation decided that it would be inappropriate to air the episode at the time in the aftermath of the murders of the two female police officers on September 18th. PC Fiona Bone and Nicola Hughes were called out to a supposed burglary taking place at a property on an estate in Manchester. Upon responding to the call and arriving at the scene, they were then allegedly ambushed by suspect Dale Cregan, who had been laying in wait for the officers to arrive before shooting at them and attacking them with a military style hand grenade. As well as the deaths of the pair weighing heavily on the decision to postpone the final episode of the police drama, the program was also believed to have featured scenes of violence against a female police officer. The funerals of PC Hughes and Bone took place on October 3rd and 4th respectively at Manchester Cathedral, which saw Deansgate, one of Manchester's busiest roads, come to a standstill as the public paid their respects to the fallen officers. The final episode will air tonight at 10.30pm - well after the nine o'clock watershed, at a time when the scenes will strike a much less tender nerve with the general public.
