Better Call Saul Season 2: Everything We Know So Far
3. He's Still Jimmy McGill... For Now
The show may be called Better Call Saul, but the first season was very much about Jimmy McGill, although it does start to break him down and set him on the path to becoming Saul Goodman, in particular with the finale and the end shot of him driving away, soundtracked by Smoke On The Water. While that may have set the stage for the transformation into Saul at the outset of Season 2, when the show returns he's still going to be Jimmy McGill, although a little closer to the character we know and love from Breaking Bad, with Peter Gould saying: "He gets knocked down, but he always pulls himself back up...That's one of the things that's most endearing about him. That ability to bounce back is going to be tested in Season 2." Although Saul Goodman shares that same indefatigability, but is far more morally dubious when it comes to bouncing back, which is something we'll get more of this year, with a recent trailer having him question doing the right thing.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
