The Big Bang Theory: 10 Moments When Sheldon Cooper Was Wrong
4. Losing The Physics Bowl To Leonard et al
Episode: The Bat Jar Conjecture Sheldon is really not the team player he mistakenly believes he is. When the guys decide to compete at the Physics Bowl, Sheldon's arrogance and selfishness leads to him being kicked off the team, PMS (Perpetual Motion Squad), and replaced by nemesis Leslie. Undeterred from entering the competition, Sheldon recruits his own team, comprised of people he characteristically presumes to be less clever than him. By the end of the Physics Bowl, the teams' scores are painfully close. The last question is too difficult for both sides (cue Sheldon's face twitching into overdrive), until the Russian janitor he forced to participate speaks up with the correct answer. When Sheldon demands how he knows, the janitor explains that in Russia, he is a physicist; but Sheldon's egotism prevents him from agreeing to give the answer. Even though it is correct. PMS win by default. Sheldon sulks; Howard, dizzy with triumph, falls to his knees and rips his shirt open; Penny, fast asleep in the audience, is fortunate enough to miss the whole thing.
