BoJack Horseman: Every Main Character Ranked Worst To Best
3. Diane Nguyen
Diane Nguyen was arguably the most complex character on the show (outside of BoJack himself), and also one of its most constantly intriguing. A writer whose world-view was always under threat by the horrible events that surrounded her, she seemed at first to be level-headed, even wise, but in time showed audiences that she was just as messed-up and confused as everyone else.
Her rocky relationship with Mr Peanutbutter gave her the chance to be a great element of comedy on the show, but also one of its most dramatic. Later, her attempts to find her footing in her career and her battles with depression and anxiety proved to be one of the show's most compelling arcs, allowing her to face her fears and build her confidence.
Diane was great to watch, and remained throughout the show a figure of both tragedy and resilience, always fighting through life's obstacles no matter how many times she stumbled. She may have been hard to like in places, but her worst habits only worked in her favour, making her more flawed and great to watch in the process.
