Bones Season Finale Delayed Result of (Un)Clever Marketing
To give the illusion of calculated synchronicity, the Bones finale is being stalled so that it can be released in conjunction with The Finder.
Fans of Bones will have to wait a little longer for the series finale, which will air a month after next weeks episode. As some of you may know, Bones will be going on a bit of a hiatus due to Emily Deschanel's recently born baby, which gives plenty of room for the spinoff series The Finder. To give the illusion of calculated synchronicity, the Bones finale is being stalled so that it can be released in conjunction with the new series pilot. Instead of showing the finale on December 15th, Fox will be showing the backdoor pilot of The Finder, previously aired in April of 2011. Bones has been doing better the ever, delivering ratings higher then ever. To capatlize on the shows success, creator Hart Hanson conceived the spin-off to focus on characters introduced in the sixth season on the island of Key West. Well, the buzz is in and the show's show has been given at least one season. The series will star Geoff Stults as Walter Sherman, an enigmatic skeptic whose attention for detail makes him perfect for a police procedural structure. Joining Stults will be Michael Clarke Duncan and Mercedes Masohn (pictured above) as Leo Knox and Isabel Zambada, respectively. The characters from this new show were first revealed in Episode 19 of Season six, "The Finder" in which Brennan and Booth recruit the help of Sherman, Knox and Ike Latulippe to help gather evidence. It is discovered that Booth and Sherman share a history in the military, and Booth harbors some unsettled resentment. This episode set the stage for the show that will soon become The Finder, although it was later revealed that Latulippe. So, fans of Bones, watch next weeks episode very slowly, you'll have to wait a while to see its conclusion. The midseason finale of Bones and the series premiere of The Finder will be shown on Fox on January 12th.
