3. Lords Of Dogtown
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmXeGwbGVCE Three years before Heath Ledger turned in the performance of a lifetime as The Joker in The Dark Knight, he was grinding his way through Lords of Dogtown as Skip Engblom, leader of the Z-Boys. "That Aussie guy from The Patriot finds a way to do surfboard moves on a skateboard thanks to a set of special polyurethane wheels..." would have been a terrible elevator pitch for a film that is actually pretty fun. Set on Venice Beach in the 70s Heath's shaggy hair and vacant expression are right at home as he out-acts everyone (even Johnny Knoxville) while Deep Purple, Cher, David Bowie and Jimi Hendrix prop up the soundtrack. Expect lots of gnarly surfer dudes, lots of women in yellow hot pants and the word "Bros" quite a lot as Lords of Dogtown carves its way over to Netflix from November 18th.
