Breaking Bad: 10 Best Characters Who Appeared After Season One
2. Saul Goodman
Legendary comedian and writer Bob Odenkirk made the transition to in-demand dramatic actor by way of one of the best cast characters on TV. The fast talking, endlessly charming Odenkirk has the hard working huckster jive down pat, and turned Saul Goodman into an integral part of Breaking Bad from his first appearance.
The criminal lawyer provided much needed levity as the Walt and Jesse business became increasingly darker. He dresses in colourful suits and acts the clown on TV, but his buffoonery only masks a corroded heart. Saul’s always willing to choose violence, on the proviso that he keeps his hands nice and clean.
Ultimately Saul is one of many men who underestimates Walter White, though as a rarity he - thus far - has lived to tell the tale. As we see in his prequel, he’s similarly powered by untapped potential and poisonous spite. Unlike Walt, though, he comes so close to getting everything he wants - money, prestige - only for the walls to close in on him as the game gets too dangerous.
Saul -a.k.a Jimmy McGill - undergoes myriad ups and downs throughout his two shows. Where he’ll end up is anyone’s guess.
