Breaking Bad: 10 Best Characters Who Only Appeared In One Episode

You don't need much time to make an impression in New Mexico!

When you deal in the business of selling meth, you sure do meet some peculiar people. This was undoubtedly something Breaking Bad chose to explore, as not only did Walter White and Jesse Pinkman go on a journey of wild crime antics, but they also met some colourful characters along the way.

It's not hyperbole to claim that Breaking Bad helped reshape the TV landscape. This Vince Gilligan classic worked hard to bring cinema to the small screen, showing the full scope of the medium. It took the groundwork laid down by shows like The Sopranos and The Wire to the next level, and Albuquerque's healthy dose of exciting yet believable characters was a big part of that.

However, while the central characters of this groundbreaking series were a major part of its appeal, the same love was also given to the smaller roles. Even the most minor cast members felt nuanced and distinct, which makes the following ten all the more impressive.

Yes, these are the faces who only made one appearance yet still caught the eyes of the viewers, and made a big impression.

10. Jimmy In-N-Out (Better Call Saul)

Crime is all about who you know, and you can't get any better than Saul Goodman, as he's got all the best criminals in his phone book. His arrival was a turning point for Breaking Bad, as he quickly caught the viewers' attention and helped legitimise Walter/Jesse's soiree into criminal activity. One of the first things he brought to the table was Jimmy In-N-Out.

If you found yourself in a pinch and needed someone to take the fall for a crime you committed, then Jimmy was your guy. He was a man who actually preferred life on the inside, so was always happy to take the wrap.

This ended up happening in the episode "Better Call Saul" after Badger was arrested for selling Blue Meth and asked to identify his supplier. Rather than giving up Walter (and finishing the show three seasons early), Goodman devised a plan where Jimmy took his place and got the jail time.

Although he only appeared once, this character embodied the craftiness of the criminal underworld and proved Saul's competence.
