8. Blackmailing His Parents

Jesse's relationship with the rest of his family was one of the most overlooked parts of the original run, as that fractured dynamic helped audiences understand why he behaved the way he did. From the few glimpses into family life we get, it's clear that his parents were very prim and proper upstanding citizens, and that Jesse has been nothing but a disappointment to them.

However, it's also made apparent that he's been an issue for them on an emotional level as well. His drug habits and difficult behaviour have made up a repeated cycle, and his promises to get clean and go straight have been broken too many times for there to be any trust left.

They did go too far by kicking him out to his own devices, but Jesse's decision to blackmail his parents into selling him his old house is still a dick move. They weren't perfect, but it's not like Jesse was either, and when they don't immediately give him another chance, he once again shows them just how nasty he can be.
