Breaking Bad: 5 Possible Endings To This Sprawling Epic

4. The Whites Go Into Witness Protection

b2reaking-bad_edited-1 In the beginning of season 5 we get a mysterious flash forward of Walter sitting in a Dennys on his birthday. He is all alone with no one to shape his birthday bacon into the number of his current age. His head is covered by a full head of hair and his face is now covered in a full beard as opposed to his signature goatee. One interesting aspect to take note of is his new identity. When prompted for his photo ID in order to claim his free birthday meal Walter presents the waitress with a New Hampshire state license and when he was walking out of the restaurant the same waitress referred to him as "Mr. Lambert". Now this means one of two things either he finally took Saul up on his offer to wipe his slate clean and start over with a new identity or he made a deal with the D.E.A. in exchange for witness protection. I know what you're thinking Walter is freaking Heisenberg a highly sought after meth kingpin what type of information could he possibly exchange for his freedom? Walter is one of the most conniving and resourceful characters in television history and if anyone can find a way to take the heat off of himself and shift it elsewhere it's him. Perhaps he rats out his latest distributor Declan? What if he spills the beans about his international sales involving Lydia? What if he somehow finds a way to convince the D.E.A. that Jesse is the true brains behind the operation and completely sells out his long time partner? This is one scenario that really didn't cross my mind until now. If you think about it there's got to be a pretty damn good reason Walter needs that heavy artillery he just purchased. He obviously hasn't gone too far as the waitress in the restaurant asks him if he's on his way to California so we know he's still somewhere out West. To think that someone is coming after him or his family as revenge for Walter ratting them out to the D.E.A. isn't as unlikely as you might think.
