Breaking Bad: Every Major Death Ranked
8. Todd Alquist
Jesse Plemons’ understated, boy next door performance turned the all-American Todd Alquist into Breaking Bad’s creepiest character and a sinister highlight of the final season. He’s an enforcer for the Nazi gang but never seems to show any far right leanings - he’s just an eager-to-please puppy with no qualms about forcing folk into slavery or child murder.
Todd is Jesse’s final boss, and he’s far more effective in this role than Jack was for Walter. He keeps Jesse in forced servitude, shoots his girlfriend, and threatens the life of young Brock - all of which he does without the least bit of passion.
When Jesse finally breaks from his shackles and chokes Todd to death, it’s presented in full grizzly detail, but you can’t not be elated as you watch the life leave this monster’s eyes.
We’re not given a great deal to go on as far as Todd’s backstory, but something inside him is terribly, irreparably broken - and after all we see Jesse go through, he deserves a moment of catharsis like this.
