Breaking Bad: How Walter White Broke Bad In 10 Steps

2. The Pilot Episode

Breaking Bad has one of the craziest and most eventful pilot episodes of any show. So much happens to the character of Walter White over the first episode€™s 45 minute run time that I could do a top ten list about his fall from grace centred entirely around it. After being diagnosed with cancer Walter White decides that the best way to financially support his family after he€™s gone is through the production and sale of crystal meth. This fateful decision means the mild mannered Walt cooks meth for the first time, has his first drug deal and kills his first person (albeit in self defence). It has been argued that Walt became an irredeemable character at this point, however I would disagree. In this episode Walt makes a bad decision that puts him into a scenario that escalates. It appears that Walt is still disgusted by his actions judging by his suicide attempt at the end of the episode. At this point Walt is still a chemistry teacher pretending to be a drug dealer and not the other way around.
