8. Letting Jane OD
Okay, so I was heavily tempted to put this higher up the list of twisted Heisy moments, but I refrained because... well I believe his motives were fairly justifiable. Jane Margolis was a b**ch. Alas, how heroic can a hero truly be when he watches a young girl OD herself to death lying in the arms of his trusted sidekick. Its a seriously messed up moment and it comes at such an interesting point in Walt's character arc, that I don't know quite what to make of it. I remember watching the scene and thinking 'yes, Jane's dead - good work Walt' but looking back now I think a) I am a horrible human being and b) Walt is a black hole of emotion. I think its Jesse's reaction that eats me up inside. Correct me if I'm wrong but Jesse still does not know the influence (or lack of) Walt had in Jane's death. It's Jesse emotion, paralleled with Walt's lack of, that upon reflection, packs this scene with a metaphorical punch to the face.
