Breaking Bad: Walter White's 5 Most Badass Moments

4. "I Am The One Who Knocks!" (Season 4, Episode 6)

phpPHXYL9PM

This is a moment that everybody has been waiting for since almost the first episode. Walt finally explodes on Skyler, who has been constantly bitching at him almost since day one. She claims that Walt "wants to be caught by Hank" and should report it to the police if there's a chance he could get killed like Gale. Then the real kicker comes; she accuses him of being in over his head.

That's when Walt has had enough. He then gets up and proceeds to give her the best 'you're wrong' speech of all time. He tells her exactly how it is, he tells her how an entire business depends on him and would fail if he didn't turn up to work for a single day. Then comes the Pièce de résistance: "You clearly don't know who you're talking to, so let me clue you in: I am not in danger, Skyler; I am the danger! A guy opens his door and gets shot, and you think that of me? No. I am the one who knocks!" He slips further and further into Heisenberg as the speech progresses, culminating in those last few sentences. This leaves Skyler, for once, speechless. She looks terrified of him, like she doesn't know who he is anymore and in fairness she actually doesn't. This is her first viewing of Heisenberg, a persona who Walt has started to almost always be in rather than his "normal" self, which is reserved for being at home. The main reason why this is so brilliant, on top of the Heisenberg outburst, is the fact that he finally does what we've all wanted him to do since the first season; shout at Skyler. God knows we've all been sick of her complaining and nagging and interfering since the beginning but for the sake of being polite Walt just puts up with it or walks away. This time, he just blows his lid and just tells her exactly how it is and it's brilliant. She finally gets what's been coming to her since the start and it is glorious.
