The best detective in the Nine-Nine... and Jake Peralta.
There are so many big characters that populate the 99th precinct of New York's finest, and with them come some wonderful relationships. Hitchcock and Scully's bromance is topped only by Jake and Charles', not to mention the dynamic between Holt and each individual in his team, and Mr and Mrs Peralta.
None of these, however, can match up to that of Jake Peralta and Gina Linetti. Friends since their days at grade school, their relationship has stood the test of time and evolved from the playground to the office.
Gina, the human form of the 100 emoji whose life is like a Step-Up movie, and Jake AKA Mangy Carl himself, may at times seem opposites, but have a deep respect and love for each other as only life long friends can.
Despite their differences, the childhood friends are both confident to the point of cocky, happy to joke around until important police work is put in jeopardy, and quick to humiliate Santiago.
